“BioKidd” began as two mothers’ idea to find safe and natural face paints for their children. “A while ago there was a large study about face paints by “The Campaign for Safe Cosmetics” which concluded that often they contain heavy metals, petroleum products and carcinogenic substances. Our goal was to create a product that’s safe, natural, and easily used with a short and understandable list of ingredients. We started to put together ideas, various natural materials, and created a unique product – creamy face paints out of beeswax, clay and mineral colouring”, remembers Dace Apse.
The team – Dace together with her partner Antra Rubene – went to the PINK program solely with an idea. “We had the first prototypes when we joined, but it took a while for us to reach active work and the right combination of ingredients. We performed full product testing, and manufacturing along with new product development began only in December of 2018.” says Dace. PINK gave them the confidence that it’s possible to create a company and work in this segment. That’s why the next logical stop was INK. Its support helped create the first product test batches, as well as to equip their manufacturing space.
“The largest value from PINK and INK is the lectures. You can attend those that are both in our incubator, as well those that happen elsewhere in Latvia. That’s why we’ve been to lectures organized by other incubators, which were relevant for us at the time,” says Dace.
If your business idea isn’t fully ready, you don’t have to be afraid to go to PINK. That’s the best place to go through all of the pluses and minuses.
Both PINK and INK are a good place to meet other entrepreneurs from various industries. This socialization helps a lot.
The incubator is a support team for the entrepreneur.
